1. The general theme of this book is the use of social media and technology to create a marketing presence. Technology is becoming even more relevant on a. Day to day basis, and traditional methods of getting your product out into the world just aren’t quite cutting it anymore. This book provides key tips to successful marketing through the use of technology and different social media platforms.
2. This book has connected with many of the assignments that we have recently done. The process of networking has become more easily doable through the use of social media, as well as marketing certain products to a certain market based, which is made possible by different media platforms and big data, which combined allow us to directly market to those users who have an interest in certain types of products.
3. I would simply design the exercise to have students take a poll/survey asking questions concerning the likelihood of a person seeing an advertisement through one channel or another. Examples could include “Would you be more willing to respond to an advertisement on Facebook or in a newspaper” or comparing other social media platforms.
4. The aha moment of reading this book that really caught my attention was the emphasis placed on content and frequency. Although social media is considered “permanent”, if it is your chosen method of marketing, you must keep it updated frequently and with valuable content to keep your consumer base growing and buying.

ReplyDeleteI agree that technology is becoming a part of our every day life, and we are beginning to struggle to survive without the knowledge of social media and the technology that comes with it. I believe we are conforming to technology and relying on it as if we cannot live without it. I also believe it is one of our best sources of communication and advertisement. I think lots of marketing can be done through social media, and thus should be seen as a valuable business resource, which Guy Kawasaki also clearly did.
