Kristy Ridley-
1. A young female dog accessory maker. She makes these products by hand and sells them to small boutique stores around Miami, as well as takes direct orders from individual customers. She started this business in high school as a hobby, cutting up designer bags and stitching them into dog collars to then sell to people.
2. Important supplier to your industry
3. Kristy is a close friend from growing up at home. She popped into mind when thinking about who could fill this slot in the assignment. A simple phone call and a little catching up was all I needed to do.
4. Seeing as our products aren’t really competition for each other, she told me a bunch of boutique pet stores in Miami Beach that would definitely take interest in my product, and without any question of reciprocation.
5. This person would provide me with a bunch of contacts who would be interested in a unique product for dog owners.
Josh Marder
1. A very close friend of mine from home. Absolutely clumsy.
2. An expert on my market
3. Josh is a person that I keep in contact with on a daily basis. He’s currently trying to market a new kind product that helps with spills on electronics after they happen. Our products could actually be marketed together; one as a preventative measure, and the other as a post-spill measure.
4. Very casual exchange mostly just inquiring about the progress he’s made with his product, and how similar our products purposes are, but still different. It was more about synergy than anything else.
5. Our ability to work and market our product toward the same group of people would be beneficial to us both, seeing as they serve the same end purpose but at different points throughout a spill (before and after)
Rob Kingsley
1. Cooler developer; trying to bring many aspects of tailgating together into the cooler, including speakers, and electric cooling to prevent the heaviness of ice in the cooler.
2. Domain expert in your industry.
3. Roommates uncle, so he brought him up when I told him about the assignment.
4. A short phone call was all we had, seeing as I felt weird trying to include my roommates family in my assignment, but I did my best.
5. This person could provide information about the development of a good insulation for my product, as well as where he plans to market his product.
This is a great exercise to promote the ability of gathering resources and speaking with new people to help promote the success of your business.

Max,
ReplyDeleteNetworking is very important in creating good relationships for future opportunities in jobs and in life. I think you did a great job in connecting with people outside your comfort zone and who could help you in the near future. The market that your product is towards has a huge market so there are many different kinds of people who you could connect with.
dear maxwell,
ReplyDeletei believe your ability to convey an open mind in every conversation you have, which allows you to better understand their background, allows you to know what they might wants or need. which will help you overall determine your market.
