3. My roommates leaving their dishes in the sink. – Exists because they’re probably lazy or intend to do it later.

Why did I have trouble coming up with this list?
My difficulty with creating this list stemmed from two things; the fact that many things have been invented specifically to eliminate many of these “bugs” from our daily lives, and because I am relatively easy going in terms of annoyances.
Innovation stems from the need to find solutions to everyday problems, even the most minute. For example, the spatula probably revolutionized the culinary world because it allowed cooks to flip food. What’s not considered a simple task today probably wasn’t as easy a while ago. But this is because people recognize these issues and work to solve them. It’s innovations like these that make my life easier and make it difficult to think of things that “bug” me today.
These very small bugs are often things that we can’t really fix because they often relate to human nature. Coming to accept this has helped me be more easy going about things that annoy me.
Max,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your bug list because they were SUPER relatable, but were probably relatable for most college students. I also really appreciate your frustration in finding the meme you're trying to use in context of conversation. It is super frustrating when you're sitting there laughing at your own witty meme use but can't find it to send and share with others. My one complaint would be there was no picture of your dog included. That picture would've really enhanced the post. I also agree many of these bugs are just apart of human nature and that inventions are working to solve these Bugs every day. It's pretty neat how inventions can continue to make our lives both more enjoyable and simple as well as complex.
All the best,
Sophia
Max,
ReplyDeleteThere were several of your bugs that I relate to very closely. The biggest ones for me were the ones about the rain in Florida. The biggest memory I have about washing a vehicle with the rain was the night of my high school graduation. I washed and waxed my truck before I went to graduation. The rain chance was something around 10 or 20% for the night. As soon as I left to go to graduation, it started to pour and continued to for the rest of the night. Beyond that, the rain around campus is very unpredictable and drives me crazy on a daily basis. Great list!

Max,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your bug list because I feel that I could relate to it. Getting White Shoes dirty is such a pain because you could wear them once and they could be dirty forever. I also relate very much to the meme one but more directly when its something online that I want to buy or a song that I want to know the name of. Another thing that annoys me are all the spam call that I receive from other states, especially when they are already recorded messages.
